Carly and Gavin were married at As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle in May this year and chose to book with us after we had photographed a few of their friends weddings in the past. The scene was set and the skies are blue so we headed up to Washington to begin the day.
Instead of capturing the traditional bridal prep on the morning, Carly had asked that we go to the local pub to capture all of the guests arriving. A big double-decker red bus had been organised the transport guest from Washington to Newcastle, so that the guest didn’t need to drive home later that evening.
We began the day by capturing guests arriving followed by a few photographs of the groomsmen in front of the big red bus. Once guests were all aboard, they headed over to Newcastle and we headed off to Carley’s house to capture some photographs of the bride and bridesmaids.
There had been a major accident that day on the way into Newcastle, so we ended up taking the long route to get to the venue but once we arrive there on time, the guests were all seated and the ceremony began.
After the ceremony, the guests all headed upstairs for drinks so we took the couple outside for some photographs with the campervan. Once back inside, we organised all the guests to do a big group shot off the balcony, and then do smaller family photographs on the Terrace. We still gave them lots of time to mingle, before heading downstairs for the wedding breakfast.
The speeches were very entertaining with lots of nice things been said by the family and the best man. After the meal we headed outside to do some more couple shots, before the guest jointers to do some more informal photographs outside.
As the evening do started, guests relaxed before the couple had their first dance. This was followed by three other dance. A dance with the bridesmaids, a father and daughter dance and then a final surprise by the girls from the hen party. Without Carley knowing, they had organised a dance with the DJ which had proved very popular on the hen doo. It made for some great photographs and Carley was completely surprised.
The photographs you see above were taken on a Canon 5D mk iii and a Canon 7D mk ii camera using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Single Photographer Package which gave them one photographer for the whole day.
