One venue we’ve been absolutely looking forward to photographing is Newton Hall. They claim in their marketing that it’s bold, romantic and fantastical… we headed up there to find out if it lived up to the hype.
We arrived at Newton Hall bang on lunchtime. Kate was at Newton Hall getting ready with her bridesmaids and family whilst Prince and the fellas were over at the Joiners Arms. While Chris went into photograph the bridal prep, Shazia went in to start photographing the ceremony room.
It was a very relaxing mood amongst the ladies. Everything was going to plan and everyone was calm. It gave us chance to capture the dress, as well as hair and makeup being finished. Meanwhile Shazia captured the details of the ceremony room, followed by photographs of the lads.
Once everyone was ready, it was time for the ceremony. As well as the fantastic decor, the one thing we loved about the ceremony room was the amount of natural light that came in through the windows. A photographers dream. It made for some incredible photographs.
It was an amazing setting and Kate looked beautiful as she came down the isle solo. Prince, grinning like a cheshire cat, was more than happy to see his bride. A beautiful ceremony took place, but just as it was about to finish the wind and rain picked up.
This meant we had to do our group photographs inside. This wasn’t necessarily a problem as Newton Hall has an incredible fire place to photograph in front of. Guests were happy too as the venue were serving canapés within meters of where we were taking photographs so food and drink was not far away. We just about managed to fit all the guests into the photographs, and just as we finished, the wind and rain stopped for long enough for us to get a big group heart shape.
After the photographs we headed downstairs for the speeches. As soon as the speeches were done, we grabbed Kate and Prince and headed out to the beach. It gave our newlyweds a nice relaxing break with each other and we had a lot of fun capturing photographs of them together. We had a play around with some smoke bombs too, and Prince and Kate had a lot of fun.
Upon our return, the evening guests had start arriving and with the band set up, everything was set. Kate and Prince were introduced to their evening guests and as they entered the room, dry ice flowed from the bar. After cutting the cake, they made their way onto the dancefloor to another dry ice entrance which looked unbelievable.
They danced, they partied and the band certainly got the guests into the groove. With the drinks flowing, guests started to relaxed and have a good time. As you can see from the photographs, everyone had an amazing time.
The photographs you see above were taken on a Canon 5D mk iii and a Canon 7D mk ii camera using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Single Photographer Package which gave them one photographer for the whole day.
