Alice and Sam’ Wedding Details
Tell us how you met…
“I was the ‘attractive’ bar maid in Sam’s friends pub where he visited often (says Alice). We started talking one Monday morning, he offered me some calamari and asked if I would like to play badminton with him. Our first date was made up of nandos, McDonald’s mcflurries and cooing at pets in a pet store 🙂”
What was your overall plan for the wedding? What did you want for the day?
“We wanted a laid back, casual day set in a country venue that was informal and fun! We didn’t over analyse anything and let the day flow without too much structure. It was only to be a small wedding so cozy and intimate were key!”
Any funny stories from the wedding?
“Apart from the usual drunk uncle at the wedding, a joke of the best man wearing the grooms mothers underwear and the groom being caught smothering expensive body cream in every nook and cranny on his body, nothing too silly happened. I’m sure if we asked the more toxified guests, a few more would come out!“
How did you choose your photographer?
“We first met Shazia and Chris at a wedding fair who instantly stood out from the crowd. They were relaxed, and casual, speaking to people when they were interested rather than throwing themselves into people. They were funny and had great personality about themselves. They were exactly what we were after; creative and cool.”
How did you choose your venue? Would you recommend the venue to future couples?
“High House Farm Brewery is such a fantastic place to hold your special day! The country side venue with the fields, hay bays and chickens made it the perfect place. It has a great feel to it and is a new concept to some people. It definitely makes a wedding to remember. Sam’s parents friends own the farm and they recommend we have a look, plus they do a really good beer!”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Follow what ‘you’ want, not what your parents or anyone wants or thinks is appropriate. If you find something that you want, do it! Don’t hold back on venue, photographer, dress anything! When it feels right, it’s perfect!”
The photographs you see above were taken on two Canon 5D mk iii’s using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Single Photographer Package which gave them one photographer for the whole day.
