It rarely happens but from time to time it’s uncertain as to whether a wedding will go ahead. From Chris and Natalie, that was very much the case. Their son Zack has been taken ill earlier in the year and the wedding had to be postponed. Due to the serious nature of his illness, for a time, we weren’t sure what would happen. But happily he fought like a champ and after a little delay, the wedding day finally arrived.
We arrived at both Natalie’s and Chris’ houses to capture both the girls and the lads getting ready. Natalie has recently found out she was expecting so if you couple morning sickness with a faulty zip on a bridesmaids dress, there could have been a potential panic on our hands. Luckily everyone made it through and we headed over to the church.
The ceremony was beautiful and Zack provided additional entertainment by running around full of excitement. After the ceremony we took a big group shot of everyone, followed by some family photographs, before the guests made their way over to the Quayside Exchange.
Before heading over, Natalie wanted to stop off and see her Dad, who sadly passed away before the wedding. I kept my distance at the cemetery, but captured some lovely photos of Natalie at her Dad’s side. After an emotional visit, we headed over to the graffiti wall in Sunderland to capture our couple shots.
When we met Natalie back in October 2013, she’d mentioned that she wanted something different from her wedding photos and how could you get much more different than this. A bride and groom standing in front of a graffiti wall. Not traditional, but awesome in every way.
Then we headed inside for the pre-breakfast speeches and after the guests has eaten, we headed down onto the cobbles to capture some photos of our bridal party. Then it was back inside to capture the evening entertainment.
What an amazing day. I truly mean that.
The photographs you see above were taken on two Canon 5D mk iii cameras and a Canon 7D using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked our Prestige Photography Package which gave them two photographers for the whole day.
