It was the first time we’ve ever photographed a wedding at Riverdale Hall in Bellingham and I have to say it’s such an understated venue I had no idea.
We had met Adam and Jennifer for a final consultation at the venue only weeks before just to go over where to take photographs etc, but it was one of those times where the venue just comes to life for you on the day. There were so many great photographs I took on the day and for most of them, I couldn’t have predicted they’d have come out looking so cool the way they did.
I arrived on the morning to capture Jennifer and her bridesmaids getting ready. They had so many little details to capture and before we finally headed out for the ceremony, I’d taken so many photographs. The ceremony took place in a marquee that they set up outside of the venue which would provide the backdrop for the whole day.
The ceremony was lovely and as the couple headed out to leave the ceremony, we set up a lovely shot of the guests blowing bubbles as the couple left. We then decided to do our group shots which turned out to be rather entertaining with me climbing onto the roof of the bedrooms in order to capture the big group shot of everyone.
The day lended itself to the weather, and the weather provided me with ample opportunities to get some lovely shots of our bride and groom together alone. We even drove 10 minutes away from the venue after the breakfast to capture a shot of our couple on their own on a windy road with the trees overhanging (It’s not on the website because the website doesn’t display portrait images in the image slider).
For the newlyweds, the day was more about the natural photographs that really captured the essence of the day, but for us, the day brought about unexpected opportunity to also capture some lovely couple shots.
The photographs you see above were taken on two Canon 5D mk iii cameras using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked our Premium Photography Package which gave them one photographer for the whole day.
