Matt and Katie’s Wedding Day Details
Tell us how you met…
“My wife & I first met across a busy customer service desk at tesco when i was going for an interview. She made sure that she was the one to sign me in, then take me up to the interview room. I made sure I aced the interview but think she had a little something to do with me getting the job!”
What was your overall plan for the wedding? What did you want for the day?
“My wife Katie isn’t really a fan of having her picture taken, Chis & Shaz however made her feel totally comfortable & got some amazing pictures. Even though we planned to have all the pictures outside the weather decided to be against us for some of the pictures. Our photographers managed to organise everyone so it was quick & didn’t take up the whole day.”
Any funny stories from the wedding?
“After the ceremony we wanted pictures down at an abbey behind our hotel. Chris knew that the weather was about to change & it was a now or never kind of thing to get down there! So, feeling like we had just robbed a bank & Shaz was the get away car driver, we all piled into Chis & Shaz’s little car, my wife Katie in the front seat surrounded by her dress, Chis myself & Tim the best man squeezed into the back, we skidded off down to the abbey, had our photos then got back to the hotel to just beat a torrential down poor!. Hats off to Shaz & her rally get away car driving skills!”
How did you choose your photographer?
“I have known both Chris & Shaz for many years. Chris was at the same high school & year as me back in the day, & we have always kept in touch & been on many nights out. Always followed Chis & Shaz’s work so it was a no-brainer really when it came to choosing our photographers!”
How did you choose your venue? Would you recommend the venue to future couples?
“We found our venue at a wedding fair where they had a stand promoting their hotel. We got invited to have a complimentary nights b&b with a meal included. The hotel just ticked all the boxes really & my wife & i fell in love with it!
By the time of the wedding the hotel had been renovated to look even more spectacular!
Would totally recommend Abbey House for any wedding. The hotel, staff & surroundings of the hotel are just amazing!
Every member of staff was just so helpful & made sure we had an amazing day!”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Give yourselves plenty of tine to plan & organise your wedding!.. This way you can make sure that everything is done & ticked off your list (lists.. very important) a week or a few days before your wedding so you can enjoy the build up & you aren’t running around stressing trying to do last minute jobs (like find the correct colour tie like i did).
Enjoy yourselves and take time for just the two of you to step back, and take your day in, because it goes sooo quickly!”
The photographs you see above were taken on a mix of Canon 5D mk iii’s and a Canon 7D mk ii camera using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Prestige Photography Package which gave them two photographers for the whole day.
