Natalie and David’s Wedding Details
Tell us how you met…
“We met in a night club in Sunderland. Jess was out with her friends from college and Nathan was out with his friends. Jess’s friend who she was out with was Nathan’s best mate Dans sister. So when Nathan seen Jess he asked Dan to tell his sister to tell Jess he liked her….. and the rest was history”
What was your overall plan for the wedding? What did you want for the day?
“We wanted a traditional wedding but with a twist, hence having the church service but then the reception at Alnwick Tree House. We wanted something different to everyone else and didn’t want to get married in a typical hotel or hall. We went for quite a rustic theme. The most important thing to us was that all of our closest friends and family were there and that everyone enjoyed the celebrations.”
Any funny stories from the wedding?
“After the wedding we were so drunk our friend had to help us find our hotel room and open the door for us. I asked Nathan to carry me over the threshold and he was so drunk he dropped me and ended up dragging me in by my arms. We have a 5 minute video as evidence, it’s pretty funny!“
How did you choose your photographer?
“The photos were really important to us, we didn’t want typical photos of everyone standing in a line and being told they had to pose. When we seen Chocolate Chip’s website we thought the images were amazing. I phoned Chris and immediately knew that he was right for us. He just ‘got us’ … I felt like I could completely trust him to capture the day, nothing was too much hassle and our photos are amazing.”
How did you choose your venue? Would you recommend the venue to future couples?
“We have always loved Northumberland as Jess’s Grandparents have a caravan in Rothbury and spend a lot of time there. We had always loved Alnwick Gardens and from being a little girl Jess had dreamed of getting married there. We seen the Tree House had a winter offer that was a much cheaper package and this worked well with Jess’s job being able to get time off work more easy so we booked as soon as we went to view it. Its a magical venue and is something totally different to any wedding we’ve been to before, its such an intimate room and really has that wow factor. Yes we would definitely recommend the venue to others.”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Time goes so quickly on the day. Try not to worry about your guests… trust me they will be having a good time. Just relax and take it all in. Ladies aim to be ready an hour before you need to leave for the venue so you can relax and have a glass of fizz with your bridesmaids and calm your nerves.”
The photographs you see above were taken on two Canon 5D mk iii’s using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Premium Photographer Package which gave them one photographer for the whole day.
