Steven and Natalia’s Wedding Details
Tell us how you met…
“We first met thirteen years ago whilst working at Boots in Washington. Natalia was working full time between University degrees and Steven was working part time whilst at University.”
What was your overall plan for the wedding? What did you want for the day?
“Our overall plan was for all the important people in our lives to be there and to have a great time. We always intended on getting married in the UK so Natalia’s Nanna could be present and as we are both from the North East, we had to get married here.
We wanted a day that we would always remember with an atmosphere somewhere between traditional and informal. We wanted people to enjoy our day and leave with as many happy memories as we knew we would have.”
Any funny stories from the wedding?
“Not necessarily a funny story, but the registrar dropped his pen during our wedding ceremony and looked a little embarrassed about it. Everyone laughed immediately as it was so quiet whilst our ceremony was taking place and it instantly set a laid back and informal tone which was great.”
How did you choose your photographer?
“We had seen Chocolate Chip Photography at one of our friends’ weddings and instantly liked how they worked on the day. They were fantastic with all the guests and when we saw the finished photographs we knew they were the perfect wedding photographer for us. We loved their own unique style of photography, capturing special moments in such a wonderful way. Now that we have our wedding photos back, our decision has been 100% justified as our photos are beautiful and Chocolate Chip captured all our special memories and much much more.”
How did you choose your venue? Would you recommend the venue to future couples?
“We first heard about Woodhill Hall when I was at a wedding fair with Steven’s Sister. We loved some of the photos we were shown and organised a visit to an open day back in 2014. We had looked at a couple of other venues in Northumberland, but as soon as we looked around Woodhill at the open day, we knew it was the perfect venue for us and wanted to book straight away. It had everything we were looking for. Somewhere quirky and different, unlike any venue we’d seen or been to for other weddings. It had beautiful surroundings for photographs and as we could have the venue for the whole weekend, it would allow guests to stay and enjoy our entire wedding weekend with us.
We would and will recommend Woodhill Hall to anyone we speak to. The staff were fantastic, the food was unbelievably delicious and we and our guests fell in love with the setting. The wedding all went amazingly well and couldn’t have gone any better and our perfect venue truly gave us the perfect day. We received so many comments from our guests saying how the venue was unlike anything they’d been to before and many comments saying our wedding was the best wedding they’d been to. This is so nice for us to hear and we couldn’t agree more – it was a magical day.”
Advice for other brides and grooms?
“The day will pass you by so quickly so try your hardest to take in as much as you can and savour every moment.
Your venue and your photographer are really your two most important decisions as it’s the venue people remember and your photographs are the one thing you have left after it’s all over. So choose wisely and don’t settle for second best.
Don’t get hung up on little details on the day because you’ll end up being too busy to notice and your guests will certainly not notice and think it is all perfect anyway.”
The photographs you see above were taken on three Canon 5D mk iii’s and a Canon 5D mkiv using a variety of different lenses.
The couple booked the Prestige Photographer Package which gave them two photographers for the whole day.
